First of all: Download the video (in the best quality youtube's got to offer).
If you use firefox (and I do hope so), then install the downloadhelper as add-on (but only from the official site). Then it's really easy to download videos from youtube.

Then play the video with a player that offers you a snapshot/capture function (vlc, media player classic...). And last but not least, capture the image you want to have as jpg or bmp or whatever you like after having used the still frame.

That is really all!

Let me give u a more simple way to save youtube videos.

Go to http://www.getvideomp3.com/

Just add the url of the youtube video u want to save. The website will download the best quality for u.
