    Orlando: a mother's grief...

Why did you hurt my little boy?
He was the best of men.
His smile that brought so many joy
    will not be seen again.

Though you have left my heart undone,
    God's promises are true.
In Abram's bosom sleeps my son.
    Dark angels wait for you.

With hearts that break, with tears that fall,
we will go on to live.
May God have mercy on us all
    and teach us to forgive...

Your expression of sorrow is shared by so many! And the police are real heroes here. When I was young, the gay bars in my city were owned by the Mafia and the police raided them periodically. In Orlando the police broke down walls and risked their lives to save gay people. We've made progress and in this tragedy we can see the changes. The lines of people offering to give blood were so moving!

via dolorosa: from Stonewall to Orlando...

From Stonewall to Orlando we have come.
Our martyrs witness love as well as hate.
Police, the first responders, to name some,
the lines to offer blood prove God is great.
    Blessings surprise
our rainbow bridge, today a bridge of sighs...

I listened to Obama's address to the nation on the subjects of terror and hate. I was so impressed to hear our president state that an attack on one of us is an attack on all Americans. He avoids the term Islamist extremist because he knows there are so many uninformed people who would love to throw the blame on a billion Muslims for the actions of a small group of extremists. Isis is not Islam. Jerry Falwell isn't Christianity. We have to realize there are still a lot of people who don't like us, just as they don't like women, Mexicans, and people of other religions.

    moments of silence for Orlando...

Moments of silence. In my mind I see
a Pride Parade in Heaven. Angels fly
their rainbow flags while chanting "Blessed be
the martyrs of Orlando." Choirs reply:
    "Love without fear!
Your love has made you whole! Your home is here...!"

And beautiful indeed are the outpourings of sympathy from all over the world for the victims of the Orlando shooting. That's why I was especially shocked to see on the Rachel Maddow show two clips from YouTube of Christian pastors who hate gays and were actually happy about the shootings. Pastor Roger Jimenez of California and Pastor Steven Anderson of Arizona both were delighted that there were 50 less sodomites and pedophiles on the streets of Florida. Pastor Roger claimed he didn't want to kill gays personally but that a righteous government would round them up and execute them. It was very disturbing and you can check out their clips on YouTube. As a Christian, I feel a moral obligation to denounce them.

They say they're Christians. We must call their bluff.
They can't be Christians. They don't love enough!
There may not be an easy way to shush 'em.
Is there a toilet large enough to flush 'em?
Guys who hate gays, despite their threats and jeers,
are often what we gays call closet queers.
They murder gays with words and deeds of hate,
then dreaming still of gays, they masturbate.
How beautiful their feet, who preach Good News,
whether or not they're wearing Gucci shoes!
How ugly are their feet, those men uncouth
who live for hate and never find the truth!

    so true!!
i know many dudes who are closet queers, many many of them have come onto me while drunk,
but then are so afraid the next day asking repeatedly, DID ANYTHING HAPPEN BETWEEN US?
i stay far away from dudes with this mentality,
sick in the head dudes are always trouble....
