What are the wrinkles of the soul? They are all the works of art - poems songs, movies, paintings - that have somehow shaped us, helped form our identity, influenced our personality, and contributed to making our inner essence. This includes our love affairs. Love affairs and works of art are treated together as products of the inspirational energy that creates them.
Where are they now? Although the poem or painting itself may be gathering dust in a closet or attic, the raw energy and emotion that inspired it is energy. Energy cannot die so the inspiration, the basic emotion for the work of art or love affair, continues in the collective consciousness.
Who is the perfect lover? If the reader has had a great love affair, he may put in the name of his partner. Or the perfect lover may be the ideal perfect human lover, the fulfillment of all human potential. The perfect lover, since he is human and perfect, may have Messianic or Christ-like attributes as well. The reference to church bells calls to mind the two major events of life, weddings and funerals. The wedding of course may be an allusion to any perfect union. I am going to my office now and yes, there will be a quiz tomorrow!
