Does anybody know the plot surrounding this scene? Why is somebody tickling Doug's bare sole?

I used to watch Trading Spaces pretty religiously and saw this scene when it aired. This was part of a very short clip that they showed as they went to a commercial. It wasn't part of the actual makeover. For the clip, Doug (obviously) laid there with his bare feet in front of the camera and they filmed him for about 8-10 seconds. Somebody (camera man? producer?) reacher their finger out and briefly tickled his foot. The captures make it seem like he was laughing but if I remember right he was mostly smiling/laughing at the person deciding to do. Nonetheless it was a pretty amazing scene to see at the time.
