The Captive Indian

Kansas, 1856. It was nighttime finally. Running Wolf was laying very still on the grass. He had been assigned to spy on the nearby army camp. There were rumors going around his tribe that the Army was planning an attack for later in the week. One of the elders suggested that they get one of the younger guys around Running Wolf's age (22 winters) to go spy on the camp. Running Wolf eagerly accepted the task. Now was his chance to do something worthwhile. His instructions were clear: wait by the camp and see what the generals say. Running Wolf has some knowledge of English, so that was one more reason why he chose to spy on the camp.

Running Wolf got to the outskirts of the camp in twilight hours so they couldn't see him. He was wearing his buckskin pants and his moccasins, but no shirt. He didn't want any excess clothes to get stuck on anything. His long, black, braided hair was tied back tightly. He had green paint below his eyes to help him see in the dark. He keeps his horse far away from the camp, as to not make any distractions or noises. He crawled silently and swiftly along the ground, keeping hidden from sight.

Finally, he sees the camp. He sees some soldiers by a fire eating, some soldiers sleeping in their bags, and at last he sees the tent he must spy on. He crawls very carefully to the tent, keeping from being seen. He sees the General's shadow along the outside of the tent. He could pick up what they were saying; "last time.....we'll show them......4 days.....weapons....". Running Wolf crawled closer to hear better. He focused his eyes on the tent, and could pick up more words. "End of the week sounds good. Hopefully, they won't be a problem anymore". Running Wolf felt that he had all the information he needed. He started to turn around when he heard a stick crack. He looked up and saw a soldier standing there. "Howdy" the man said, and hit Running Wolf on the head with the butt of his gun. Running Wolf's mind went blank as he passed out.

Running Wolf woke up with a start. His head felt like it was on fire. He tried to touch his head, but discovered his arms were tied by his sides. Then he discovered he was tied lying down to a log. He had a rope tied across his ankles, another across his waist, and another across his chest. The ropes were tied tightly, and he couldn't move. He looked at his surroundings. He was outside of a tent. Suddenly, a man came from around the corner. "Hey, the Indian's awake". The General came out. "I caught this Indian spying on the tent where you were planning the raid. I think he knows". The general was quiet for a second, and then responded "well, I guess we'll have to see what he knows. Hell, his tribe may be planning an attack on us". Running Wolf felt nervous. He had no idea what was going to happen to him. Would his tribe come and rescue him? Could he escape? The general looked at the other man and said "ok, you can leave us two alone". The man left, leaving the General and Running Wolf alone together.

The General and Running Wolf sat in silence for what seemed like ages. The General was about 50-60 years old. He had a short grayish beard, dark eyes, and dark hair. Finally, the General spoke. "So, you speak English"? Running Wolf gave a weak nod. "Is that a yes"? Running Wolf replied "yes, I speak English a little". "Good, that will make this so much faster". The General paused for a few moments. "So, what were you doing by our camp"? Running Wolf looked nervous and kept quiet. "One more time, what were you doing here"? Running Wolf didn't say anything. The General appeared a little angry. "Fine". He went to Running Wolf's moccasined feet. Running Wolf felt nervous and wiggled his toes a little out of nervousness. The General bends down and sniffs the soles of his moccasins. Running Wolf feels really scared now. What is he going to do? Without warning, the general licks Running Wolf's right moccasin from heel to toe. Running Wolf starts to squirm now. The General then licks Running Wolf's left moccasin from heel to toe. "Mmmm, that tastes good. A hint of buffalo like the kind I had to eat this morning". Then, the General places both hands on Running Wolf's right moccasin and starts to massage his feet through it. Running Wolf starts to feel relaxed. He hasn't experienced anything like this before. Then, the General starts massaging his left moccasin. He could feel the General wiggling and playing with his toes through it. "So, ready to talk now"? Running Wolf didn't say anything. He couldn't betray his tribe like that. "No? Well, I guess we have to get a little rough now".

Without warning, the General slapped his sole really hard. Running Wolf yelped. The General slapped his other foot and he yelped again. He tries to kick his feet away, but the General grabs hold of his foot and starts to punch his sole. Running Wolf's foot felt like it was on fire. "Ready to talk"? Running Wolf kept quiet. A warrior can control himself. Running Wolf looked down and saw the General doing something. All of a sudden, he heard the sound of a crackling fire. He saw the General back away. Running Wolf felt his feet get warm inside his moccasins. His feet began to sweat. His soles were getting really hot. "Ready to talk" the general said? Running Wolf shook his head. "Fine, we'll have to try something else".

He doused out the fire with some water. He then went to Running Wolf's feet and slipped off his moccasins, exposing his bare feet. "Whew, your feet are cheesy". The general then stuck his nose between Running Wolf's toes and started sniffing. Running Wolf was scared, not sure what was happening. The general started sniffing his soles now. Without warning, the general licked Running Wolf's right sole from heel to toe. Running Wolf tried to kick his foot away. The general held his feet down and licked his soles. Running Wolf just closed his eyes and waited as his feet were being caressed and licked. He could feel the general's tongue going between his toes and everything.
After what seemed like hours of the General licking his feet, he stopped. "Hmm, seems like nothing will make you talk. That's good". The general got up and started loosening the ropes that were holding down Running Wolf. "However, I know that you won't say anything to your tribe. Too embarrassing for a Brave like you to have their feet licked as torture" He slipped Running Wolf's moccasins back on his feet. He kissed his feet, and then undid the last of the ropes. Running Wolf got up and ran as fast as he could. Like the general said, he wasn't going to share this story with the tribe. He'll just keep it to himself from now on.
