They do, but that's because his feet are angled and not facing us, with the left foot significantly closer to the camera than the right foot. Due to perspective, this seems to have created the optical illusion that his left shoe is much bigger than his right foot.

If you're familiar with the concept of "vanishing points", you will notice that lines drawn from equivalent parts of both feet (e.g. through both big toes, through both heels) all seem to converge on the same point. If his feet were differently sized, that could not happen.
